What type of martial arts extensively teaches the whip chain?
Q. I am going to major in Martial Arts for college. I am already an amateur with the Butterfly Knife and now I am interesting in learning the Whip Chain...along with martial arts of course. Through this college, you graduate a black belt. I can chose any type of martial arts such as Tai Chi, Jujitsu, Karate, Taekwondo, and so on. I read under Tai Chi weaponry they do touch on Whip Chains. Do any other of these martial arts? What would be my best choice?

A. There are at least 300-400 different styles of Chinese martial arts. Perhaps many more. The steel whip is used in many styles of Chinese MA. But it is not the focus of any martial art. It is very rare to find instructors that have truly mastered the steel whip. But then it is also true that the Chinese have more weapons and variations of them than the Okinawans, or Japanese. ...

What is the difference between a Masters in Fine Arts and a masters in Visual Arts?
Q. A friend of mine wants to a college Professor in either Fine arts of visual arts. He is unsure of what the difference is.So thus the above question, Please explain.

A. Fine Arts is more historical and theoretical. He'd be learning about art history and the techniques associated with different periods. Visual Arts is more practical. He'd be creating a lot of his own work, and studying contemporary styles that apply to the world of today, rather than history.

What should be the average conditioning of a martial arts practitioner?
Q. For eg, how many push-ups, sit-ups, bench-press, jogging time should they be able to do before beginning martial arts OR while practicing martial arts? Please feel free to include any other exercises a person should practice or be able to do while learning martial arts. Yes meditating is only good when there is no liquor store close to your house and you don't hear drunk girls scream their a** off and laughing every night.

A. Hello, i am in mixed martial arts. I have done Tae kwon do, Muay Thai, Brazilian jiu jitsu. and Wrestling what you should do is depending on the martial arts. but you should work on conditioning most. What i do is monday and tuesday, work outs. curls, push ups. military presses, sit ups, pull ups. and ab work outs. On wednesday i do straight conditioning. always stretch before. Thursday and friday, i work on my leg muscles. squatting and stretching and leg pressing. But if you are a begenniner, i suggest you take one day breaks. and remember, muscle and cardio builds while you are sleeping. so get a lot of rest! Good luck!
