GNU Free Documentation License What should I do with my sports and entertainment management degree? Q. I majored in Sport and Entertainment Management and do not care to be in sports or entertainment. It is pointless to change majors after 3 years of college-- when you are MORE than ready to graduate. Any suggestions on what I can use this degree for? I want to be on the business side of things-- work my way up. I hear it is all about experience but how can I start? Do business people respect someone with this degree or look at it like a joke? We did a LOT of management prep in school. Asked by CQuestions - Tue Jun 2 11:25:47 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. I have a friend who got her degree in social work. She tried being a social worker and she hated it. So she took an executive assistant job at a large financial company. They asked her to arrange a party and she did a really good job of it. Now she's in charge of all event planning for the company and she loves her job. Your degree sounds like a perfect match for a job like that. Answered by andrea.force - Tue Jun 2 11:31:10 2009 How can I break into the entertainment industry? Q. I've been wanting to do work in the entertainment industry such as fashion modeling/acting/tv commercials ever since I was young. I've always wanted to be on tv or perform. I have very little experience but am willing to take it serious. I am 19 years old, 5'1 and in college. What are some steps or tips to help me start out? How do I set up a portfolio and who do I send them to? Do I have to live in a big city to be discovered? I would love if people with experience answer most of the questions! Q. Constantly, the entertainment industry, worships and glorifies all of the negative aspects of the ghetto- crime, gangsters, rap, poor grammar, drug culture and promiscuity. MTV gives center stage to talentless gangsters who can't sing, have no talent as if they are worthy of respect. Why is the sub-culture attractive to the communists in Hollywood, is it simply a means to undermine our society? Asked by slappyjk - Fri Sep 11 21:13:01 2009 - - 21 Answers - 1 Comments A. Why is Wally-World making more money than they can ever spend? Because they sell cheap garbage to people who don't have enough money to buy "the good stuff" (as if that even exists any more). MTV will promote anything that makes them money, no matter if it's quality or not. The same thing for Hollywood. And everyone out there is flocking to the theaters, and watching MTV to see how far they'll take it this time. The stuff that shocked us 10 years ago is rated G now. It used to be that soaps were trashy, filled with people cheating on each other and the whole ball of wax. Now they're taking soaps out one by one, with the oldest soap in history going under the axe by the end of next week. Why? 'Cause they don't make money any more.
